Blue Owl
Cooper Rae Blankenship started making music under the name Blue Owl in 2013 while looking for something to do. Inspired by the instrumental works of Adam Young and Armin Van Buuren, he made a series of demos that he would revisit seven years later while studying at Berklee Online. On July 25th, 2020, he released the Bismuth EP on Soundcloud, which featured four tracks off his debut album Words, released on Bandcamp on July 16th, 2021, and on streaming on August 1st.
Blankenship is now working on his next full length project, which will be announced soon. He has released three singles so far — the darkly irreverent Fire in the Hole, the driving yet melancholy Needle in a Haystack, and the aggressive, psytrance-inspired Fly in the Ointment. More details will be announced soon!

Orchestral & Film Scoring
Cooper Rae Blankenship is, among other things, an aspiring film composer attending Berklee College of Music online. Taking inspiration from composers such as Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore, Alan Silvestri, Pinar Toprak, and many others, he has created an impressive body of work, including many projects written while taking Hans Zimmer Teaches Film Scoring on Masterclass.com, an alternate score for Spitfire Audio and Pinar Toprak's Stargirl Scoring Contest, and an original score for Jasmine's Book, a film produced at the Reel Stories Institute about a young woman who finds love in an unlikely place.
